The Center for Maine Craft in West Gardiner has a small gallery space with revolving shows by individuals and organizations, and I am pleased to be the featured artist from June 3rd through the 30th. I am showing twenty one white-line woodblock prints of chickens, farm animals, crows, and sleeping dogs and cats on the walls, plus many more unframed in bins.
If you’re anywhere near The Center, traveling north or south on rt 95, please check out this wonderful place. The Center is run by the Maine Crafts Association and is the central location for Craft sales, education, and activities in our state. All work is handcrafted by Maine artisans. I also have my Willy Wires jewelry there along with as many as 300 Maine craft artists from throughout the state.
The Center for Maine Craft is located at 288 Lewiston Road in the West Gardiner Service Plaza at the junction of 95 and 295. Yes, the service plaza! Next time you’re traveling on the highway in Maine, make this oasis of creativity and beauty your pit stop (and maybe grab a cup of coffee). To get there, take Exit 103 from 95 South; Exit 102 from 95 North; Exit 51 from I-295. Open daily January through June 19th, 9am-6pm, Memorial Day weekend (Fri-Mon), 9am-8pm, and summer hours starting on June 20th, 9am-8pm. (207) 588-0021
